Paint.NET 2.2 alfa 1es un software de manipulación de imágenes con el que Microsoft pretende sustituir al vetusto Paint, que viene en todos los Windows.

Paint.NET puede ser empleado bajo sistemas Windows XP o 2000 y está siendo desarrollado por la Universidad estatal de Washington con ayuda adicional de Microsoft.

El software está programado en C#, con extensiones GDI+, y dispone de avanzadas funcionalidades que incluso le permite el soporte de capas.
